Alice Cooper’s first solo album Welcome to My Nightmare was released in 1975 after he disbanded his original group, marking a transition from the Alice Cooper band to Cooper as a theatrical solo artist. This horror rock concept album follows a character named Steven through a series of nightmarish scenarios, blending hard rock with Cooper’s signature theatrical shock rock style. The album includes the hit single “Only Women Bleed” and the title track “Welcome to My Nightmare,” both of which became staples of Cooper’s live performances.
