NJ’s TOMBS blends black metal with goth, death rock, and experimental noise, forging dark, genre-defying music with relentless intensity.

TOMBS is a boundary-pushing metal band originally from Brooklyn, New York, now based out of NJ, founded by guitarist and vocalist Mike Hill. Originally rooted in black metal, TOMBS quickly carved out a sound of their own, blending elements of gothic rock, death rock, thrash, and avant-garde noise. The band’s evolution is a testament to Hill’s tireless creative vision and refusal to be boxed into a single genre.

Since their 2009 debut Winter Hours and 2011’s Path of Totality–named Decibel magazine’s Album of the Year–TOMBS has continually redefined themselves. With each release, they’ve added new textures, including keyboards, layered guitars, and ambient soundscapes, all while maintaining a core of emotional intensity and urban grit drawn from their New York roots.
