A vibrant and groundbreaking collection of Arabic pop, oriental funk, jazz fusion, and experimental synth, Beirut Groove traces the evolution of Lebanons modern music scene through the lens of the iconic Voix De LOrient label. This anthology captures two decades of innovation and expression, reflecting both the creative highs and the cultural complexities of life in Beirut from the late 1950s through the 1980s.

Featuring key figures like Egyptian guitar legend Omar Khorshid and visionary composer/arranger Elias Rahbani, alongside lesser-known yet vital talents such as Nicolas Dick, Robert Maalouf, and piano virtuoso Abdallah Chahine, this release is a wide-reaching portrait of an era defined by musical daring and emotional depth.

Compiled with care and accompanied by detailed liner notes from DJ and music researcher Ernesto Chahoud and journalist Natalie Shooter, Beirut Groove charts the soundtrack of a city in transitionfrom the golden era of cosmopolitan glamour to the turbulence of civil unrest. This is not just a compilationit’s a living archive of Lebanons sonic legacy and a tribute to the musicians who helped shape it.
